Uniteam Marine is seeking a highly skilled Contract Chief Engineer for the MSC Jubilee IX, a prestigious vessel operating worldwide. This vital role involves overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the ship's machinery, including the MANB&W 10K98ME-C engine. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing safety protocols, managing engineering crew, and maintaining optimal vessel performance to meet international standards. As part of this role, you will be trusted to uphold the highest levels of technical competency and operational efficiency on a PostPanamax class vessel, specifically designed to handle 9000 TEU containers, with respective power specifications of around 54884 HP and 76572 kW.
- Proven experience as a Chief Engineer, preferably on PostPanamax vessels with similar TEU capacity
- Extensive knowledge of MAN B&W 10K98ME-C engines or similar large-container vessel propulsion systems
- Certification as a Chief Engineer and relevant maritime engineering qualifications
- Strong understanding of safety management systems and international maritime regulations
- Ability to lead and manage a diverse engineering team in a dynamic environment
- Flexibility to operate on a worldwide basis, with the readiness to travel as required
